Express Entry Draw held on September 19 and 24, 2018

On September 24, 2018, Express Entry draw under the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) took place wherein 400 invitations to apply were issued to candidates with cut-off score of 284. All the candidates who created their express entry profile before February 18, 2018, at 12:31:16 UTC and had scored a CRS of 284 points and above received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw. The recent draw under the trades’ class brings the total number of invitations to 62,500 for the year 2018.

On September 19, 2018, IRCC held its 99th Express Entry draw wherein 3,500 invitations to apply were issued to candidates with cut-off score of 441. All the candidates who created their express entry profile before September 6, 2018, at 10:28:45 UTC and had scored a CRS of 441 points and above received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw. Although the draw size of September 19, 2018, was comparatively smaller than the previous Express Entry draw held on September 5, 2018, wherein 3900 ITAs were issued compared to 3500 ITAs of the current draw. It is still comparatively larger than the number of ITAs issued by the Government of Canada during the same time in 2017, where the ITAs dropped to less than 3000 files.

Express Entry system manages profiles in mainly three categories: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class; candidates with the highest rankings are invited to issue ITA through the regular draws released twice a month. Candidates can also improve their ranking by including a provincial nomination that provides an additional 600 points to their current CRS score. IRCC has now issued 62,100 ITAs in over 19 draws in 2018, which is comparatively lower to the ITAs issued last year around the same time in the year 2017.
