Quebec Invites Skilled Workers through its newly designed Arrima Portal

Immigration Ministry of Quebec issues their first invitation to apply for immigration to Quebec through their Arrima portal. Arrima portal is an online portal that was recently introduced and launched to manage the application under the QSW program. Arrima portal is dedicated to Expression of Interest System (EIS) and is eligible to any one of 18 years of age and above, and who wish to immigrate to Quebec under the Regular Skilled Worker Program. Since the portal’s commencement, the draw of July 4, 2019, was the first round of invitations and they have planned to hold various draws till January 16, 2020. Quebec recently was to cancel approximately 16,000 backlogged immigration applications for the Quebec Skilled Worker (QSW) program. Quebec is going to prioritize these applications for invitation over the future applications in the coming weeks and months.

The government is going to prioritize the Quebec Skilled Worker Program candidates with Arrima profile who match the below-mentioned criteria:

  • Candidates whose applications for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) were terminated on June 16, 2019, and were a temporary resident of Quebec when they applied;
  • Candidates whose applications for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) were terminated on June 16, 2019, and were working or studying in Quebec at that time; or
  • Candidates who have a validated job offer from an employer in Quebec.

The government of Quebec would issue the invitation to apply for CSQ by January 16, 2020, to candidates who match one of the first two criteria given above and submit Expression of Interest prior to December 16, 2019. Applicants have a maximum of 60 days to submit their application for Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) upon receiving an invitation from Quebec.
