OINP: Targets New Tech Oriented Occupations

Ontario has decided that new tech-specific draws will be included through Human Capital Priorities stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The stream targets skilled workers in Canada’s Express Entry pool. The new tech draws will target the Express Entry candidates with experience in one of the six targeted occupations.

Ontario will search for candidates in the Express Entry pool and will contact the selected the candidates directly through their EE profile accounts. The selected candidates will be receiving the Notification of Interest (NOI) and will give the candidates 45 days to prepare and submit the completed application for the province of Ontario. If the candidate’s OINP application is approved, the candidate will receive additional 600 points in their CRS score and the increased score will put them above the cut-off score required for Invitation to Apply.

Following are the tech occupations eligible for Ontario’s Tech Draws:

2147Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
