Ontario reaches its nomination cap for the year 2018

For the year 2018, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OPNP) has reached its 2018 provincial allocation to issue 6,600 nominations to the eligible applicants across various streams and categories. The province will continue to accept and consider the new applications for the provincial nomination and those candidates whose profiles have already been created and submitted would be considered for further revision in the year 2019 except the currently paused Master’s Graduate Program.

With the end of this calendar year, there has been no update for the further allocation in 2019. However, it is very likely that the number would increase in the upcoming year. The allocated number for the year 2018 was 600 higher than that of the year 2017. Also, under the federal government’s new multi-year immigration levels plans, the admission target for Canadian Provincial Nominee Program is set at 61,000 for 2019, with an addition of 6,000 over the year of 2018, which were 55,000.
