The consultation of which is all set to begin later this year with stakeholders including employers and settlement organizers who are already based in Alberta, said, Jason Kenny during the recent general election. The department of Alberta is strategically working on designing the immigration program with multiple possible options. “The rural immigration program would also be tied up with Federal Express Entry Program, as its Canada’s major source of foreign labor”, he added.
According to Kenny, the launch of such an immigration program will help foreign entrepreneurs and business professionals to get rural communities into the province. The new program will allow the opportunity to 40,000 new residents to settle down in upcoming four years, the prospect of 32,000 newcomers could get an opportunity via the Rural Renewal Program and 8,000 new immigrants could also get a chance to be Alberta’s resident.

As per the United Conservative Party (UCP), the model called the Morden community initiative has played a major role in Manitoba’s success in retention of immigrants in rural communities. Of all the newcomers, there has been a surge of 20% of residents settling down in the communities like Morden.
As said, the rural immigration program is going to tie with the Federal Express Entry system, it’s very crucial to find out the eligibility criteria to enter the Express Entry pool. The pool of candidates is prominently defined for Canada’s economic class immigration program i.e.Federal skilled worker class Federal skilled trade class and Canadian experience class.
Candidate’s ranking in Express Entry pool is score-based, which is allotted on the factors like as work experience, age, education, proficiency in French and English.
