British Columbia issues more invitations for provincial nomination

The latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) tech pilot draw that took place on August 30, 2018, issued 32 Invitation to Apply (ITA) to qualified Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates with job offers in 29 key technology related occupations. Candidates in both Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) Skilled Workers and International Graduate categories with score of 91 in the Skill Registration System (SIRS) of the province were issued invitation while Skills Immigration candidates in the Skilled Worker category with SIRS score of 84 were issued invitation as well.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) also issued 405 Invitation to Apply for a provincial nomination certificate to skilled workers and graduates under Skilled Immigration and Express Entry streams in the draw that took place on August 22, 2018. Candidates obtain 600 additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) who obtain invitation under British Columbia’s Express Entry-aligned streams, such as the EEBC – Skilled Worker and EEBC – International graduate streams, if their application is approved for provincial nomination. Skilled Immigration candidates who received nomination from the province will have their application for PR processed outside the Express Entry system. The applicants who wish to immigrate to Canada through British Columbia PNP will have to submit an online profile with BC PNP’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and complete the form. Post assessments of the profile, applicants receive a score based on education, work experience, and other factors. Generally, candidates applying to the categories managed under the BC PNP require an indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer in the province. However, candidates applying under BC PNP Tech Pilot with job offers in one of the 29 occupations are required to have a job offer that lasts for at least one year (365 days).
