The entrepreneur immigration stream is enthusiastic to the entrepreneurs who have a personal net worth of a minimum of CAD 600,000, business and/or management experience, meet program-specific requirements, and are eligible for the legal immigration status of Canada. British Columbia issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to the Skilled workers, Graduates, and Entrepreneurs on January 30, 2019, through its British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
BC PNP issued 356 ITAs to the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC applicants and 19 ITAs to the entrepreneur applicants who scored 109 and above. Registering a profile under the Federal Express Entry System is the first step to immigrate through BC PNP Express Entry categories. All the Skilled Immigration Candidates who have applied and have obtained a provincial nomination will have their application processed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The candidates who got their invitations under the skilled worker, international graduate, and entry-level & semi-skilled categories had to register first under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) after completing a profile online with the BC PNP. BC PNP assesses candidates through SIRS, a points-based system including aspects like education, language proficiency in English or French, and work experience.
All the candidates who got invitations under the Skills Immigration and the express entry candidates must have a full time and an indeterminate job offer with an employer in BC. The minimum scores considered for each category were as below:
