British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program held a new draw on June 21 inviting 125 candidates in three different categories.
Here is a breakdown :
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) was launched in 2017 with the goal of attracting highly skilled workers to the province.
The BC PNP currently manages two key streams: Express Entry and Skills Immigration.
A candidate seeking a provincial nomination under the BC PNP must first register an account online.
The BC PNP draw is a point-based system in which candidates are assigned a score based on their human capital, skills transferability, and other factors. Points are assessed and assigned using the BC PNP points calculator, which considers factors such as Age, Education, Work Experience, Language Proficiency, Adaptability, and Provincial Nomination.
The higher the candidate’s score, the better their chance of receiving a provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency in British Columbia.
Those who successfully obtain a nomination from BC are then required to submit a complete PNP application using the BC’s online portal within 30 days of receiving the invitation.
Now that the application has been submitted, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will review it and make a decision. This process can take anywhere between 2 and 3 months. If approved, candidates will then be eligible to apply for Canada PR under the BC PNP.
