all program Canada Express Entry Draw for CEC Candidates PNP
  • January 22, 2021

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the second Express Entry draw of this week issuing 4,626 invitations on January 21. This draw specifically invited the candidates of Canadian Experience Class (CEC) which is the second CEC specific draw of the January 2021.

This draw of IRCC was the fourth Express Entry draw of the month where the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off was 454 points. The CRS score cut-off decreased by 7 points from the previous CEC-specific draw that was 461 points.

The tie breaking rule was applied for this draw where the applications submitted before July 23, 2020 at 17:32:00 UTC with CRS score 454 points and above received the invitation.

Express Entry is Canada’s application management system for three federal immigration programs Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Candidates in these programs, as well as some PNPs, are given a score based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). These points are awarded based on the principal applicant’s human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.

The highest-scoring candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through regular Express Entry rounds of invitation. After making an application, IRCC will make a final decision on their immigration application and send them a Confirmation of Permanent Residence if their application is successful. The last step for approved permanent residents is to make their landing in Canada, and apply for their PR card. At this point, they have officially immigrated to Canada, and can eventually apply for citizenship.

IRCC plans to welcome about 110,000 immigrants per year through Express Entry in new 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan. By now, IRCC has held four draws in January and invited 10,000 candidates. Also, take a note here that IRCC is yet to hold an all-program draw this year.

PNP- and CEC-specific draws, that are being held again, is a strong sign that IRCC will rely heavily on Express Entry candidates that are currently in Canada to achieve the immigration targets of year 2021.

This year, as mentioned in our blogs earlier, seems a good year for the aspirants who wish to move to Canada. We can have high hopes from IRCC for the coming draws.
