Canada held another Express Entry for Canadian Experience Class on April 1 which is a consecutive second draw in the last two days.

IRCC issued 5000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to the candidates with the cutoff Comprehensive Ranking (CRS) score of 432 points.

The tie-breaking rule was implemented in this draw for the profiles that were submitted before February 16, 2021, at 09:51:22 UTC. This means the candidates who have a minimum score of 432 points would have received the invitation provided they have submitted their profile before the given time.

IRCC had held the CEC and PNP program-specific draws back to back. In late 2020, IRCC started holding all-program draw again inviting the highest number of invitations in one draw where the CRS score cutoff declined gradually. The end of the previous year hit 100,000 plus invitations for the year.

Express Entry is a system that the federal government uses to manage applications for Canada’s three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In addition to that, most provinces also have immigration streams that are aligned with the Express Entry system.

In the Express Entry system, candidates are ranked based on their CRS score that considers multiple factors including their age, work experience, education, and proficiency in French or English. In some cases, the date and time at which the Express Entry profile was created is also a ranking factor.

All-program invitation round that is for the entire EE pool may have a higher cutoff score as the number of invitations to be issued in one go is limited while the number of candidates is huge. In the program-specific draw, the smaller pool of candidates usually keeps the cutoff score low compared to the all-program draw.
