Express Entry CRS 401: IRCC invites 4000+ candidates

all program Canada Express Entry Draw for CEC Candidates PNP
  • May 14, 2021

IRCC held another Express Entry for Canadian Experience Class on May 13 issuing 4147 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to the candidates with the cutoff Comprehensive Ranking (CRS) score 401 points.

The selected candidates are required to have at least one year of work experience in Canada to be eligible for the draw along with intermediate language proficiency skill in English or French.

The tie breaking rule was implemented in this draw for the profiles that were submitted before April 29, 2021 at 11:48:14 UTC. Means the candidates who have minimum score of 401 points would have received the invitation provided they have submitted their profile before the given time.

This is another huge draw from IRCC for Canadian Experience Class where they are inviting the candidates who are already working in Canada and have experience of working there. IRCC, in order to fulfil their targets to invite the immigrants, holds the draw for the candidates who are already within the borders and offers them the opportunity to secure PR.

There have been 66,475 candidates invited so far in 2021. The number of invitations issued this year is far out-pacing last year’s rate. This could be because IRCC is holding larger draws, including the February 13 draw where every single CEC candidate was invited to apply.

Express Entry is a system that the federal government uses to manage applications for Canada’s three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In addition to that, the most provinces also have immigration streams that are aligned with the Express Entry system.

In the Express Entry system, candidates are ranked based on their CRS score that considers multiple factors including their age, work experience, education and proficiency in French or English. In some cases, the date and time at which the Express Entry profile was created is also a ranking factor.

All-program invitation round that is for the entire EE pool may have a higher cutoff score as the amount of invitations to be issued in one go is limited while number of candidates is huge. In the program-specific draw, the smaller pool of candidates usually keeps the cutoff score low compared to the all program draw.
