express entry draw CEC Candidates - Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program PNP: Immigration results for August 2021 Alberta New PNP Name and Two New Programs PNP all program express entry draw
  • May 12, 2021

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an Express Entry draw for the candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) issuing 557 invitations on May 12.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores required to be eligible to be invited in this draw was 752 points.

The candidates who have received a provincial nomination were invited in the latest draw which is the reason that the CRS Score cutoff is high. If the candidates have applied for PNP program and they receive an invitation from the province under Express Entry-aligned PNP program, they receive additional 600 CRS points. Hence, in this draw, if the candidate has a score of 152 points with provincial nomination, they will be eligible to receive an invitation in this draw.

The tie breaking rule was applied in this draw where the candidates with the CRS Score of 752 points who have submitted their profile on or before April 29, 2021 at 10:18:12 UTC would have received the invitation.

Express Entry is a system that the federal government uses to manage applications for Canada’s three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In addition to that, the most provinces also have immigration streams that are aligned with the Express Entry system.

In the Express Entry system, candidates are ranked based on their CRS score that considers multiple factors including their age, work experience, education and proficiency in French or English. In some cases, the date and time at which the Express Entry profile was created is also a ranking factor.

Express Entry is a two-step process. In step one; candidates who are eligible under at least one of the three aforementioned skilled worker programs upload their profile on IRCC’s website. They get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on their human capital such as their age, education, language skills, and work experience.

In step two, IRCC holds Express Entry draws approximately every two weeks and issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence to candidates with the highest CRS scores. If a candidate receives an ITA, they can go ahead and submit a permanent residence application to IRCC.

The PNP is another way for Skilled Worker immigrants to move to Canada and attain the permanent residence. Most provinces and territories operate their own system through PNP to welcome the immigrants as per their requirement.
