Facile Information Campaign launched for Visa Applicants

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) came up with a campaign; approaching a smart way, on June 17, 2019, in favor of visa applicants from India. This new information campaign makes the navigation process more user-friendly and easily navigable. The campaign is based on 3 major objectives stated below:

  1. Educating the applicants over easy online application process; saving an extra trip to the application center.
  2. Providing awareness regarding immigration frauds and unauthorized immigration consultants.
  3. Introducing the applicants with information about the best channels to use when applying for a Canadian Visa.

The campaign covers up all the necessary aspects that are required to be shared to the applicants, based on analysis regarding the applications from India recorded in 2018. The number of temporary resident visa applications received by IRCC was 975,000, which increased by 60% as compared to 2017, i.e. 609,000 applications. On detailed examination, the applications were recorded to be submitted from unauthorized immigration agents; which has resulted in an increase in fraudulent applications and higher refusal rates of visa applications from India.

One of the most important facts was told during the campaign, that a visitor visa application costs $100 CAD (5,200 in Indian rupees), which is much cheaper than applying with a consultant. Canada welcomed 297,000 applicants from India last year. Hence, it is crucial that applicants get correct facts on visa application, as this number persists to grow.
