Key Points to Improve Your CRS Score in Order to Be Considered for Express Entry

Improve Your CRS Score

Do you intend to relocate to Canada? However, you’re still unsure about the complexities of the Canadian immigration procedure and how to improve your chances of receiving an ITA? In this blog, we’ll go through how to improve your Comprehensive Rating System (CRS) score in order to improve your Express Entry pool ranking and receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada. We’ll begin by providing an overview of Canada’s Federal Express Entry System, which was launched by the IRCC in 2015 to manage PR applications from skilled foreign nationals under three main economic categories :

Canada’s traditional first-come, first-served immigration system was flawlessly replaced by an electronic application-managed system. The federal government will choose and invite eligible candidates from the pool under this new EE approach based on their CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. Candidates are given points based on their age, education level, English and/or French language competence, skilled job experience earned in Canada or abroad, occupation, and other variables such as province nomination. Candidates who are accompanied by a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner can additionally claim spousal considerations.

How to Raise Your CRS Score

You may enhance your Express Entry score and rating in a number of ways. Even a small increase in points for factors such as language skill from intermediate to initial advanced level, higher education completion, and so on can make a significant difference and have a good impact on your ranking. As an applicant, you can take the following actions to improve your total CRS score:

  • Take the Language test again.

Language is an important feature that is worth 260 points in total. You can optimise your score and retake an exam if you speak fluent English or French. Improvement in all four talents, i.e. speaking, writing, reading, and listening, can help you reach CLB 9 or even CLB 10 on the initial advanced level. In addition, bilingual applicants can take language tests in both English and French and earn up to 24 points on the CRS table.

  • Complete higher education

Under the CRS, education is a highly valued consideration, and if you enter the pool of candidates without an ECA report, you may be requested to wait longer. You can get more points if you have an ECA report for education obtained outside of Canada. You can get up to 170 points with an assessed bachelor’s degree. You can also boost your CRS ranking score if you complete any extra degree, diploma, or certificate that is assessed.

  • Obtain a nomination from a province

You can earn an extra 600 points by receiving a provincial nomination from any Canadian province, effectively ensuring an ITA in the upcoming EE draw. You can apply for a nomination by determining your eligibility for an appropriate PNP stream.
