Till date, the province ‘Manitoba’ has issued 3,671 letters of advice to apply this year. Through recent draw, Manitoba invited 189 applicants from the immigration list under the provincial nomination for permanent residence program.

Manitoba has invited skilled workers and international graduates via three immigration streams named,

As mentioned above, with this draw the total number of sent Letter of Advice to Apply  (LAAs) reached up to 3,671. To get eligible for such LAAs, the minimum required  Expression of Interest (EOI) score was as follows,

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba – 160 LAAs with a minimum EOI score of at least 464;
  • Skilled Workers Overseas – 4 LAAs with a minimum EOI score of at least 847;
  • International Education – 25 LAAs with no minimum score required.

Note: This was Manitoba’s 99th draw since the program began in April 2014.

 

What is Manitoba’s EOI system?

If an applicant wishes to migrate to Manitoba, he/she needs to register with an Expression of Interest with the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP). IF you clear all eligibility and get selected, you will receive an LAA.

EOI system rank applications out of 1,000 points considering many factors i.e. applicant’s candidate’s work experience, education, English or French language ability, Manitoba connections, and other factors.

 

What are the Manitoba immigration streams?

To fulfil labour market requirements of the province Manitoba immigration streams are defined and the Skilled Workers Overseas & Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams are specific to skilled workers.

Is an applicant wants to apply from overseas under MPNP, he/she need to show a valid connection with the province ‘Manitoba’. It can be anything like family ties, having a friend in the province, or demonstrating previous experience in Manitoba. Or else one must have an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

To become eligible, applicants must have a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Manitoba. On the flip side, International students who completed their graduation from Manitoba may get an LAA under the International Education Stream if they have in-demand skills.
