Germany implements new regulations for experts from India

The Chancellor's Cabinet approved a draft of 30 measures on October 16, 2024, to lure more Indian experts to Germany. A simple, controlled, and effective migration process for Indians is being worked on. To fill the labor shortfall in in-demand professions, Germany is now searching for competent Indian workers.

Among the actions that are anticipated to be taken are:

  • Visas will be digital by 2024.
  • Indian workers' visa processing time would be shortened from nine months to two weeks.
  • German language instruction for Indian immigrants to Germany

More than 137,000 Indians are employed in Germany at the moment.

As of February 2024, more than 137,000 Indians were employed in Germany, a 23,000 increase over the 2023 figures. Compared to the general unemployment rate of 7.1%, the unemployment rate for Indians residing in Germany is 3.7%.
