Good news for automotive industry professionals!!

In the Express Entry system, the province ‘Nova Scotia’ has sent invitations to apply for a provincial nomination on September 24 specifically to experienced automotive personals only.

The number of sent invitations is not disclosed yet, but the eligibility for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is available.

Candidates with the experience in one of the following two National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes: motor vehicle body repairs (NOC 7322) or automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics, and mechanical repairers (NOC 7321) will receive an invitation.

Invited candidates will be asked to prove that they have two or more years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience, in these occupations within the five years preceding the application.

They will have to clear the English language proficiency test with at least five points as per the Canadian Language Benchmark. As proof, they need to submit copies of language tests and education with their application for the provincial nomination.

Specifically for educational requirements, candidates must attach an Educational Credential Assessment report issued by an organization designated by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada if it’s done outside of Canada.

Additionally, candidates must have done a two or more year’s course at a post-secondary institution, i.e. a university, college, or trade school.

Candidates who receive such invitation have time until October 24 to submit their application with appropriate documentation for the provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

Since May 2020 this is the first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw done by Nova Scotia.
