September 20, 2019 – In a new held drawn on September 19, Prince Edward Island issued a new invitation for a provincial nomination to candidates under Express Entry, Labor Impact, Business Impact Immigration categories.
A total of 122 invitations were issued to the candidates falling under these three categories. According to the report by PEI PNP, the 109 invitations were divided between the Express Entry and Labor Impact Streams. Remaining 13 invitations belongs to Business Impact: Work Permit Stream Candidates.
PEI’s Express Entry Category belongs to the candidates with a profile under Federal Express Entry System.
Candidates who belong to express entry and wants to be considered for a provincial nomination from PEI have to create a profile in Expression of Interest (EOI) with PEI PNP.
The candidates with EOI profiles are basically scored out of 100 based on education, work experience, and proficiency in English or French. The highest-ranked candidates are then invited for the provincial nomination through monthly draws.
According to PEI PNP, the candidates under express entry candidates who are living in and working in PEI will be given priority.
Express Entry candidates who receive an invitation for provincial nomination are awarded 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
PEI’s Labor Impact Category is not linked with Express Entry System and is diversified into three streams –
- Skilled Workers
- International Graduates
- Critical Workers
Candidates falling under the Labor Impact Category must be working in PEI or must have a full-time long term job offer from the employer in the province. The PEI PNP has now issued 1,031 invitations to candidates falling under Express Entry and Labor Market Impact categories since 2019.
The next draw is scheduled for October 17, 2019.
