On October 21, Quebec invited 23 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection.

Candidates who were invited to apply for permanent selection by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation, et de l’Intégration (MIFI) to have filed an expression of interest in the Arrima pool.

Candidates with a valid job offer outside of the Montréal Metropolitan Area were also invited through Arrima, as well as those residing in Quebec as a diplomat, consular official, United Nations representative, or representative of any intergovernmental organisation operating in the province.

This is the first round of invitations held under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program in October (QSWP). A total of 3,223 candidates have now been invited to apply for permanent selection by the province.

Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program

The Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program is designed for skilled workers who are more likely to establish themselves economically in Quebec. The programme is popular among skilled workers and international graduates who want to immigrate permanently in Quebec.

Candidates who have been invited to apply for permanent positions have a maximum of 60 days to submit their applications and pay processing fees. Quebec expects to process applications within 6 months of receiving all required information. This includes all forms and documents.

Québec Selection Certificates will be awarded to qualified candidates. They can then use this document to apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residence.

Applicants who want to settle in Quebec are assessed differently than those who want to settle elsewhere in Canada. Quebec’s immigration programmes are distinct from Canada’s federal programmes and are managed by the province.
