Now the applications for Quebec Experience Program to be submitted online as the paper applications will no longer be accepted from January 26.
Applications for the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ or Quebec Experience Program) are to be submitted online through the Arrima platform. Applicants now can submit the application, pay the fees and download the required documents through the platform.
As per the new set up, it will be mandatory to submit all PEQ applications through an online process and Quebec Ministry of Immigration will no longer accept any paper application. The province had informed the applicants previously that they can submit the paper-based application only until January 25, 2021.
Along with this program, there are other programs that will undergo some changes which is mentioned below.
The applications for Quebec Student Program have been enabled to submit the applications through online platform since spring 2020 but from January 26, 2021, it is mandatory for them to submit the applications online only.
The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) also indicated that once the new permanent immigration pilot projects are launched, the submission of required documents will have to be done electronically. The province is expected to launch three new PR pilot programs for workers in health, computer and food processing sectors in soon.
As we mentioned earlier, the submission is to be done online through Arrima, let us get the brief knowledge regarding the same.
Arrima is an online platform used by MIFi which was originally introduced to collect the Express of Interests (EOI) from the foreign nationals who wish to immigrate to Quebec under Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).
MIFI assesses the profiles based on the information provided on the portals considering the factors like education, language skills and work experience along with other eligibility criteria. Eligible individuals are invited to apply for Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ).
The portal is availed now for the foreigners seeking to settle in Quebec permanently or temporarily through Quebec International Student Program and PEQ as well along with QSWP.
The province expects up to 47,500 newcomers this year which is a slightly higher target than it was targeted in 2020 at 44,500 which unfortunately fell short due to the pandemic.
Immigrants will be welcome to Quebec through the economic immigration program in 2021 as anticipated by the province. Along with Quebec, this year seems to be a ray of hope for the immigrants to immigrate in other parts of Canada. We have to wait for the future updates and keep an eye on the draw.
