Saskatchewan Immigration held its first Entrepreneur Stream draw of 2023 on January 5, issuing 50 invitations under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). A minimum score of 80 and an average score of 85 points were required for the draw.

For candidates scoring 80 points, language skills at Canadian Language Benchmark level six or higher were required.

The Entrepreneur stream points grid prioritizes three factors to separate candidates who score the same.

Priority should be given to the following three factors:

  • Official language ability.
  • Those who plan to establish businesses in a key economic sector.
  • Completion of an exploratory visit.

There are three stages to the Saskatchewan immigration Entrepreneur stream:

  1. Expression of interest
  2. Invitation to submit an application
  3. Nomination

To be eligible for entry, an expression of interest must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum net worth of $500,000 must be legally acquired.
  • Minimum of three years of entrepreneurial or relevant management experience.
  • Minimum investment of $300,000 in Regina, Saskatoon, or $200,000 in other parts of Saskatchewan.

Candidates enter a pool where they receive a score. The top-scoring candidates are invited to submit an application.

Applications must include:

  • Plan of business establishment that confirms the figures in the expression of interest and includes at least one-third ownership of a Saskatchewan company, unless the investment is $1 million or more.
  • Commitment to be active in day-to-day management of business.
  • Creation of two or more jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents if the business is located in Regina or Saskatoon.
