The latest draw held under the Saskatchewan’s International Skilled Worker category on June 20, 2019, targeted candidates belonging to 5 specific occupations. Invitations were issued to candidates registered under the Express Entry and Occupation – in – Demand in compliance with the category allowing the province to nominate foreign skilled workers to receive permanent resident status in Canada.
The total number of invitations issued came out to end at 479 for candidates possessing the below listed 5 occupations:
- 1311 – Accounting technicians
- 2251 – Architectural technologists and technicians
- 6332 – Bakers
- 3234 – Paramedical occupations
- 3211 – Medical laboratory technologists
The candidates categorized under the Federal Express Entry System, who have also registered a profile with the Saskatchewan, were recorded to be issued with 268 invitations. The rest 211 invitations were sent to candidates in the SINP’s Occupation in- Demand sub-category.
For a candidate with a profile in the Express Entry pool, registration under the Expression of Interest with Saskatchewan is required to get considered for the provincial nomination. Any candidate who receives a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan gets awarded with 600 additional points in the CRS score. Eventually the probabilities of receiving ITAs for Canadian Permanent Residence for these candidates increase.
After registering under the EOI (Expression of Interest), details of the respective clients are assessed based on their education, work experience, proficiency in English or French and several other eligibility factors; awarding them with a score out of 100 points. Based on this assessment, candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for a provincial nomination through regular draws. Candidates registered in the Express Entry Pool, who has been issued ITA from Saskatchewan, have been recorded to be 1166; 1407 ITAs have been issued to Occupation In – Demand candidates till now.
