In a draw held on May 31, 2019, the Ontario province invited 1,072 applicants from the Express Entry pool through Human Capital Priorities Stream. In this draw, the candidates with work experience in 10 targeted in-demand occupations were issued Notifications of Interest (NOI).
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of candidates who received the invitations ranged from 439 to 469. Also, several other criteria were taken into consideration for selecting candidates who received the invitation.
Ontario is the most commercialized province of Canada and home to cities like Ottawa and Toronto, making it the most preferred province among skilled workers seeking permanent resident opportunities in Canada.
Based on its labor market needs, Ontario issued invitations to candidates with work experience in the following 10 targeted occupations.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) searches the IRCC Express Entry pool to find candidates who meet the criteria of one of Ontario’s Express Entry Immigration streams. In this draw, candidates who meet the criteria for Human Capital Priorities Stream are identified from the pool and issued a notification to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
The draw held on May 31 was the second draw held in 2019 by Ontario through Human Capital Priorities Stream. With this draw, the number of Notifications of Interest (NOI) issued to the Express Entry candidates through Human Capital Priorities Stream this year has reached 2,565.
In order to meet Ontario’s labor market needs, Ontario has issued invitations through Human Capital Priorities Stream. It is for the first time that Ontario has issued Nominations to Apply through the above mentioned targeted list of occupations. Previously OINP had targeted IT occupation candidates to meet its labor market needs.
Canada’s PNP allows 9 provinces and 2 territories to select immigrants for Canadian Permanent Residence. Ontario is one such province that operates OINP to invite aspirants seeking permanent residence in Canada.
The candidates who receive invitations for provincial nomination receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points that will guarantee them an Invitation to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry Draw.
