The federal government carried out research on how the pandemic is affecting the labor force in each province and territory. From this research, here are 10 jobs that have increased in demand during the pandemic in British Columbia with their NOC code:

 

  1. Payroll administrators (NOC 1432)

Payroll Administrator collect, verify and process the payroll information as well as determine pay and benefits to the employees along with payroll records.

Many employers have faced revenue loss and they need administrators to handle the employee expenses.

 

  1. Information systems analysts and consultants (NOC 2171)

These professionals analyze and test systems requirements and implement information systems development plans, policies and procedures. They also provide their recommendations on information systems issues.

The requirement for business and system analysts have gone higher as the companies have moved most of their work online or through digital medium where they require such professional who can handle the innovative technology.

 

  1. Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)

Computer programmers write, modify, integrate and test computer code for software, data processing and operating systems and communications software while Interactive media developers focus on mobile apps, training software, computer games, film, video and other related media.

The demand for these professional increased as the various establishment required different goods and need of loading and unloading them at the time of dispatch and delivery which includes the different commodities like cleaning products, necessities and the food items.

  1. Underground production and development miners (NOC 8231)
