The government of the UK has announced the launch of “Global Talent Visa” in February 2020 intending to welcome Scientists, Researchers and Mathematicians to come to the UK as a part of a new immigration system.
According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, he was making available a £300m package for research into advanced mathematics, which will increase the number of math fellowships and research projects.
The prime minister Boris Johnson said – “As we leave the EU, I want to send a message that the UK is open to the most talented minds in the world, and stand ready to support them to turn their ideas into reality.”
The global fast track visa is a replacement of the old tier 1 “Exceptional Talent” visa route that allowed applicants to be endorsed Royal Society, Royal Academy of engineering, British academy, Tech nation, or Arts Council England.
However, applicants will not need a job offer before arriving in the UK. It will provide an opportunity to settle for all scientists and researchers who are endorsed.
