Ontario holds a Provincial Nomination draw: Invites 484 candidates

Ontario issued 484 Notifications of Interest to express entry candidates under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) for Skilled Trades and French-speaking Skilled Worker streams on January 13, 2021 making it the first draw of the year.

These two enhanced Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are aligned with the Express Entry system. Candidates who created their Express Entry profile created between January 13, 2020 and January 13, 2021 have received NOI in this draw.

There were 146 Invitation was issued to the French-Speaking skilled worker stream for which the minimum score was 456 to 467 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points, while there were 338 invitations issued to the Skilled Trades streams for which the minimum score was 434 to 460 CRS points.

The Skilled Trades Stream allows the OINP to search the Express Entry pool for candidates currently living in Ontario who have a minimum of one-year full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work experience, in a skilled trade listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC).

The French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) stream is for Express Entry candidates who can speak English and French. Candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Each of these federal programs has its own requirements for work experience and education.

Candidates in this stream also need a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least 7 in French, and at least 6 in English, among other eligibility requirements.

While candidates do not need a job offer to apply under either the Skilled Trades or French-Speaking Skilled Worker Streams, they must meet all the mandatory federal and provincial requirements specified by the OINP.
