The Entrepreneur stream of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program welcomes business people with the finances and management experience to own and operate a business in Newfoundland. Following are the 2 categories of Entrepreneur programs in New Foundland and Labrador:
International Entrepreneur Category:
The International Entrepreneur program is for business owners or senior managers who possess good experience in their profession. Once the candidate spent at least one continuous year in operating and running the business successfully, he or she will be nominated for permanent residency by Newfoundland and Labrador Immigration.
Minimum requirements:
- The applicant’s age should be between 21 to 59.
- The applicant must have completed a high school education.
- The applicant must be able to submit the Business Plan with supporting documents.
- The applicant must possess a minimum net worth of $600,000.
- The applicant must be able to invest a minimum of $200,000 in establishing a business in New Foundland and Labrador.
- The applicant should have a minimum of 33.33% ownership in the business.
- The applicant must be able to create at least one job for a local citizen or permanent resident of the province.
- The applicant must show that the business has the primary purpose of earning profit through the sale of goods and services.
- Applicant must possess a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark score of 5 in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for either English or French.
International Graduate Entrepreneur Category:
This program is for Graduates from any recognized University or College of the North Atlantic region who can buy a local business and actively maintain the business operations on a day-to-day basis for a minimum of one year.
Minimum requirements:
- The age of the applicant must be 21 years or older.
- Have obtained a qualification from studying full-time at a University or College of the North Atlantic for at least 2 years and have a valid post-graduate work permit.
- Applicants should have a minimum of one year’s experience in actively managing and owning their current business.
- The applicant must be able to submit the Business Plan with supporting documents.
- The applicant must be able to create at least one job for a local citizen or permanent resident of the province.
- The applicant must show that the business has the primary purpose of earning profit through the sale of goods and services.
- Applicant must possess a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark score of 7 in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for either French or English.
