The basic student visa application requirement to study in UK is called General student visa type which is for students aged over 16 or over who have been offered an opportunity to pursue course at UK educational institution. If you’re a non-EU and non-EEA citizen, you need a student visa to study in the UK. The student visa in UK is labelled as TIER 4 (General). The day you are given a place at the university you must reach the British embassy to seek guidance on student visa requirements in UK.
Attached with the admission letter your university will send you a reference number known as Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). You’re going to need this number at the British embassy to prove that you have been awarded a place at a UK college and therefore are eligible for a student visa.

International students who study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at a recognized university are allowed to work part-time during term for up to 20 hours a week and full-time during the holidays. There are thousands of part-time student jobs in London to help support your studies. Many universities have careers and work placement centers to help you find employment. The average part-time weekly wage across the UK is £112.20 a week, but the top 15% of students take home more than £200. Students in the east of England earn the most, at £131.70 per week on average.
International students in the UK can apply for the Tier 5 (Government Authorized Exchange) visa to undertake work experience and internships in the UK after their studies. You can apply to switch from your Tier 4 visa to this visa from within the UK. In addition to that, there are certain visas like Tier 2 (General Visa), Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur), Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme and Tier 5 Temporary Worker. International Student’s visa will allow eligible students to work, or look for work, in any career or position of their choice, for two years after completing their studies.
