Yukon Immigrant Nominee Program

Yukon is the smallest territory of Canada and is the least populated Canadian province or territory. Yukon is found on the north-western side of Canada and is an area of high plateaus and mountains. To the east, it shares boundaries with the Northwest Territories, British Columbia to the south, and Alaska to the west. Whitehorse is the most well-known city in Yukon where the majority of people live. Immigration aspirants wishing to settle and work in Yukon and become Canadian permanent residents can apply through three major categories of PNP programs:

1. Yukon Express Entry
2. Yukon Skilled Worker
3. Yukon Critical Impact Worker

1) Yukon Express Entry program:

To apply under the Yukon express entry program, candidates first need to be eligible for the Federal Express Entry pool. On successful Expression of Interest in the express entry profile, the province can nominate the people who have education, skilled work experience, language ability and other factors to help them settle successfully into Yukon’s labor market and communities. The candidate must:

• Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
• Enter into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
• Demonstrate sufficient funds to support themselves and their families in Canada
• Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
• Plan to settle and work in Yukon

2) Yukon Skilled Worker Category:

This pathway targets candidates in NOC skill level O, A, B who have a job offer under a position included in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0, or B categories. The requirements of this program are majorly based on a job offer, language, and previous work experience. To be eligible, the applicant must:

• Have a job offer from an employer in the Yukon that meets all the criteria for nomination.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Relevant Education and work experience required for the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification.
• For skill levels 0 and A, candidates require minimum English language skills: CELPIP: Level 7, IELTS: Level 6, TEF: Level 4. For skill level B, candidates require minimum language skills: CELPIP: Level 5, IELTS: Level 5, TEF: Level 3
• Intention to live and work in Yukon
• Apply for permanent residency within 6 months of the employment starting date.

3) Yukon Critical Impact Worker :

The Yukon Critical Impact Worker stream caters to candidates who possess a job offer under a position included in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) C or D categories. The minimum requirements for the candidate to be eligible are as follows:

• 6 months of relevant work experience for the position being nominated.
• Relevant Education and work experience required for the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification.
• Minimum high school education
• For skill levels C and D, candidates require minimum English language skills: CELPIP: Level 4, IELTS: Level 4, TEF: Level 3
• Intention to live and work in Yukon
• Apply for permanent residency within 6 months of the employment starting date.
