The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 248 Express Entry candidates with at least a 300 score to apply for a provincial nomination on Oct 26

The latest draw is the sixth one in a row where the cutoff score was 300, which is the minimum needed to be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Since the invitation rounds resumed in January 2021, Alberta has invited 6,158 Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination. Express Entry candidates are invited to apply for a nomination certificate, which will support their permanent residency application.

Alberta Express Entry System

The Alberta Express Entry Stream allows Alberta to nominate a limited number of qualified candidates from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry system.

Express Entry is the application management system for the three Federal High Skilled programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

This stream has 2 steps:

  • Candidates with an Express Entry profile with the Government of Canada receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from AINP in their Express Entry profile. Only candidates who receive an NOI letter may contact the AINP to advise they are interested in applying to this stream.
  • The AINP invites these candidates to apply. Candidates determine if they meet assessment criteria and submit an application. Complete applications go into a pool of eligible applications for consideration for processing.

  • Have stated an interest in immigrating permanently to Alberta.
