The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) held two new Express Entry draws on September 12 and 14, inviting a total of 442 candidates for provincial nomination.

The CRS cutoff scores for these draws were 301 and 383, respectively. The first draw (Sept. 14) invited 142 candidates with family connections and primary occupations in demand, while the second draw (Sept. 12) invited 300 candidates in tourism and hospitality occupations with Alberta job offers.

This is a significant increase in the number of invitations issued by the Alberta PNP in recent months. In August, the province invited only 300 candidates in total.

The Alberta PNP has a total quota of 9,750 for 2023, out of which 4,875 are set aside for Express Entry profiles. As of September 19, the province had already issued 7,752 nomination certificates in all categories.

However, it is important to note that not all invited Express Entry candidates accept the nomination, and not everyone is landed within the same year after the invitation, given the longer processing time for PNPs.
