British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 175 invitations for permanent residency (PR) on April 4, 2023. Let’s take a look at the details of the draw.
General Draw Invites
152 invites were sent under the general BC PNP draw considering all the profiles under 5 streams. The general draw also considered Tech occupations. However, the cut-off score increased by 2 points for Skilled Workers streams under Express Entry and Skills Immigration, as compared to the last similar BC PNP draw.
Targeted Draw Invites
17 invitations were sent targeted at NOC 42202 – Early Childhood Educators and Assistants, to the profiles having a score of 60 or above. Additionally, only 6 PR invites were sent targeted at healthcare occupations having a score of 60 and above.
Overall, the BC PNP draw issued a smaller number of invitations compared to previous draws, and the cut-off score increased for some streams. The targeted draw for Early Childhood Educators and Assistants is likely an effort to address the shortage of skilled workers in that field.
