The most recent British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw for 2023 took place on August 9, 2023, and it brought some exciting opportunities for individuals seeking permanent residency in Canada. Here’s a breakdown of the key details from this draw:

General Draw and Targeted Draws

Out of the 195 invitations, 139 were sent out through a general draw. This draw encompassed a wide range of occupations, including a notable emphasis on the technology sector. Impressively, 35 Tech occupations were included, spanning across all BC PNP Skills Immigration streams as well as Express Entry streams. This strategic approach aims to attract skilled professionals in technology-related fields to contribute to British Columbia’s thriving economy.

Additionally, targeted draws were also conducted in this round. These targeted draws are tailored to specific occupations that align with the economic needs of British Columbia. Specifically, 34 invitations were extended to candidates with experience as Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202), while 22 invitations were targeted at profiles in 39 different healthcare-related occupations.

Cutoff Scores and Comparison

For the general draw categories, the cutoff score increased by 1 point compared to the previous draw on July 25. However, the cutoff score for the targeted draws remained consistent. This means that candidates who met or exceeded the specified cutoff scores were invited to apply for permanent residency.

Processing Timeframes and Next Draw

The processing timeframes for applications are based on 80% of cases and begin after the BC PNP receives a complete application following the draw. This means that candidates can expect to have their applications processed within a certain timeframe to ensure a timely evaluation.

Looking ahead, the next BC PNP draw is anticipated to occur on August 15-16, 2023. This upcoming draw will focus on targeted selections for 35 Tech occupations, 39 Healthcare occupations, Early Childhood Educators, and other priority occupations (NOCs 31103 and 32104).

Draw Schedule

It’s important to note that BC PNP Draws are conducted on a regular basis, taking place every week on either Tuesday or Wednesday. These draws alternate between general draws, which encompass a wide array of occupations, and tech-only draws, which are tailored to technology-related professions.
