On January 18th, British Columbia invited 91 tech workers to apply for a provincial nomination. The invitations were issued through the BC PNP Tech, which is a stream under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
Candidates invited through B.C.’s Tech draws must meet the requirements of one of British Columbia’s Express Entry BC or Skills immigration categories, which are managed by the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Candidates who received invitations in this draw were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories and had to have a provincial score of at least 80. Candidates who have been invited to apply for the nomination now have 30 days to do so.
In order to be considered eligible for this immigration program, candidates need to have a valid job offer of at least 12 months in one of the Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible occupations
The BC PNP is an economic immigration program through which the province of British Columbia attracts skilled, high-demand foreign workers. When you choose to live & work in British Columbia, it will give you a pathway to permanent residency.
The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been renamed BC PNP Tech and converted to a permanent immigration stream. It was initially launched in 2017. It has a list of 29 target occupations with relaxed duration requirements.
The BC PNP Tech is a program designed to help the tech industry in British Columbia recruit international talent. It allows companies to bring in professionals who are qualified for their jobs and want to live and work here.
Invitations are sent out weekly through the province’s tech programme to the top-scoring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
Candidates who are invited to apply for a provincial nomination must complete an application. After that, most technology applications will be processed within two to three months. If approved, candidates will receive a nomination confirmation letter IRCC that can be used to apply for permanent residence under the Provincial Nominee Program Class.
PNP candidates automatically earn 600 points for their score in the Comprehensive Ranking System and thus have a very good chance of obtaining an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence via Express Entry.
