British Columbia has issued 183 invitations to skilled workers and international graduates in targeted immigration draws held on September 12, 2023.

The draws were targeted at the following occupations:

  • Tech: 133 invitations were issued to skilled workers and international graduates with a minimum score of 88 points.
  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202): 36 invitations were issued to skilled workers and international graduates scoring at least 60 points.
  • Healthcare workers: 14 invitations were issued to skilled workers and international graduates, also with a minimum score of 60 points.

These draws are part of British Columbia’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled workers and international graduates to the province. The province has a number of immigration programs that are designed to meet its specific labour market needs.

Here are some additional details about the three draws:

  • Tech draw: This draw targeted skilled workers and international graduates with experience in in-demand tech occupations, such as software development, data science, and cybersecurity. The minimum score of 88 was based on the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) points system, which considers factors such as education, work experience, language skills, and job offer.
  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202) draw: This draw targeted skilled workers and international graduates with experience in early childhood education. The minimum score of 60 was also based on the BC PNP points system.
  • Healthcare workers draw: This draw targeted skilled workers and international graduates with experience in healthcare occupations, such as nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals. The minimum score of 60 was also based on the BC PNP points system.

If you are invited to apply in one of these draws, you will have 30 days to submit a complete application. If your application is successful, you will be nominated by British Columbia for permanent residence in Canada.
