British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued invitations to apply to qualified registrants in Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories on April 27. BC PNP invited total 362 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

The invitations were issued to those from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate as well as Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of SI and EEBC streams.

The minimum scores for that draw ranged between 78 and 95 points. A total of 348 candidates were invited.

Out of the invited candidates, 14 candidates were invited separately under the NOC Code 0621 and 0631 only with score of 113 points.

The BC PNP has two immigration streams, Skills Immigration and Express Entry, both of which are divided into sub-categories. These streams are managed under B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). In order to apply through the SIRS, you are first required to register an account. Once this is done, you will be assigned a score based on factors such as education, work experience, and language skills.

The EEBC stream is for the candidates with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system which is Canada’s main pathway for skilled individuals who wish to move to Canada on permanent residence.

The SI (Skilled Immigration) stream is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province of B.C.

The province periodically invites the highest scoring applicants in each category to apply under BCPNP. Then successful applicants are nominated to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.

British Columbia has been regularly holding the PNP draw aligned with Express Entry along with the Tech Pilot draw of the province itself. The candidates under the Tech Pilot require the job offer from one of the eligible occupations.

In the Skilled Immigration and EE aligned draws and other PNP draws, the candidates are awarded additional 600 CRS points if they receive the successful nomination. That ensures the ITA from federal Express Entry program.
