  • January 20, 2021

British Columbia held a draw for Provincial Nominee Program inviting 195 candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams on January 19. The draw invited the candidates under the mentioned streams from Skilled Worker, International Graduate and the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories.

EEBC stream is for the Express Entry candidates who have valid profile created. This stream is a pathway for the EE candidates to attain the PR in the province. The SI category is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province.

The minimum scores for this draw ranged between 80 and 106 points.

The following is a more detailed breakdown of the sub-categories included in the January 19 draw and the minimum scores required in order to receive an invitation:

  • Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker: 96
  • Skills Immigration – International Graduate: 96
  • Skills Immigration – Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled: 80
  • Express Entry BC – Skilled Worker: 106
  • Express Entry BC – International Graduate: 103

Candidates invited under EEBC – Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories will obtain additional points of 600 under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Later, an Invitation to Apply (ITA) will be issued if they are successfully nominated through the Express Entry draw.

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) categories are managed under BC’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). In order to apply through the SIRS, eligible candidates are first required to register an account.  Once they complete that step, candidates are assigned a score based on factors like education, work experience and language proficiency.

Candidates who have the highest scores are invited to apply for the provincial nomination through the draw from the province.

The candidates who wish to apply under the categories that are managed by the SIRS are required to have a job offer from an employer in BC.

British Columbia holds frequent draws under PNP, Express Entry aligned with PNP and Tech Pilot draws and invites the candidates. Hence, we can have high expectations for more draws and more invitations.
