British Columbia BC Tech Pilot Draw PNP British Columbia’s PNP draw
  • June 16, 2021

British Columbia held another tech pilot draw in this month and issued 72 invitations to apply for the permanent residence on June 15, 2021. British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued 72 invitations through the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams.

Candidates who received invitations in yesterday’s draw were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories and needed a minimum provincial score of 80.

The EEBC stream is for the candidates with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system which is Canada’s main pathway for skilled individuals who wish to move to Canada on permanent residence.

The SI (Skilled Immigration) stream is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province of BC.

Candidates were invited under the Skilled Worker, and International Graduate subcategories through the BC PNP Tech Pilot. Invited candidates are required to have job offers in an eligible tech occupation in order to receive the nomination.

BCPNP tech pilot is a fast-track immigration pathway for in-demand tech workers and international students. It operates through British Columbia’s existing provincial immigration streams. This pilot project includes the service for employers, weekly draws for tech workers, priority processing of applications, and flexibility in the length of job offers.

In order to be considered eligible for this immigration program, candidates need to have a valid job offer of at least 12 months in one of the Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible occupations.

Job offers under BC PNP Tech must be for a minimum of one year, with at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the BC PNP. The job offer must also be full-time and from an eligible employer in the province.

Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination from British Columbia will be given an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation To Apply (ITA) in a future federal Express Entry draw.

Candidates who are invited to apply for a provincial nomination have 30 days to submit a complete application. Once this is done, most tech applications will be processed within two to three months.
