Canada Express Entry Draw Invites 300 French Speakers

Express Entry CEC Draw Canada PNP IRCC French Speakers French-Speaking Skilled Workers
  • October 26, 2023

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw on October 25, 2023, specifically targeting candidates with French-language proficiency. The draw issued 300 invitations to apply (ITAs), the highest number of ITAs issued in a French-targeted draw in 2023.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for the draw was 486, 14 points higher than the previous draw aimed at French-speakers. This suggests that IRCC is becoming more selective in its invitations to French-speaking candidates, as more and more candidates are entering the Express Entry pool with French-language proficiency.

Despite the higher CRS score requirement, the latest draw is still a good sign for French-speaking candidates who are interested in immigrating to Canada. IRCC has already conducted five draws targeted at French speakers in 2023, and it is clear that the government is committed to attracting more French-speaking immigrants to the country.

The latest draw implemented the tie-breaking rule on September 30, 2023 at 04:22:17 AM UTC. In cases where multiple candidates shared the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this specified date and time received invitations.

This draw marks the 34th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2023 and the 270th overall. Successful candidates now have a 60-day window to submit their applications, with processing expected to adhere to the standard six-month timeline.
