Canada Express Entry PNP Draw: 787 Immigration Candidates Invited

Express Entry PNP draws All-Program Express Entry Draw fifteenth Express Entry draw all program latest draw
  • April 15, 2022

In a new Express Entry draw on 13th April, 787 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) have been issued to Provincial Nominee Program candidates.

This draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 782 points, 3 points lower than the last draw.

In order to be invited, all candidates had previously received a nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) as well as a CRS of at least 782. The minimum score was relatively high because Express Entry candidates get an automatic 600 points added to their score when they receive a provincial nomination. The lowest-scoring candidates would have had 182 base points without the nomination.

The tie-breaking rule implemented on April 7, 2022, 2022 at 12.31pm EST. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.

So far, Canada has invited 6,470 PNP candidates in 2022. This was the 8th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2022 and 220th overall.

What is Express Entry?

Canada’s most popular immigration programs use the online Express Entry system to manage applications. Express Entry is a system that the federal government uses to manage applications for Canada’s three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In addition to that, the most provinces also have immigration streams that are aligned with the Express Entry system.

Express Entry uses a points-based system (CRS) that ranks candidates. If they score high enough, they will get an Invitation to Apply and the chance to apply for permanent residency.

After the application has been submitted to the IRCC, an officer will review it and make a decision. They may then ask for more information, including biometrics, or request an interview.

If the application is approved, IRCC issues a Confirmation of Permanent Residence. Approved permanent residents are then able to complete their landing process and get settled in Canada. If a permanent resident is abroad, they can avail of pre-arrival services beforehand to help them with their final journey
