In the latest Express Entry draw held on February 13, 2024, Canada granted 1,490 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the all-program category. This draw saw a notable increase in the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, standing at 535 points, marking a significant rise of 170 points compared to the previous draw on February 1, 2024.

Reflecting on the previous year, Canada conducted various draws targeting different categories, including French speakers, healthcare occupations, STEM occupations, skilled trades, transport jobs, agriculture, and agri-food occupations, along with Federal Skilled Worker candidates.

In 2023, Canada issued 110,266 ITAs, a significant increase from the 45,115 candidates invited in 2022. The record for the highest number of ITAs issued was in 2021, totaling 114,431, primarily for Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates, surpassing the previous record set in 2020.

Canada has set ambitious immigration targets, aiming to surpass the record by inviting 485,000 permanent residency applicants in 2024, up from the target of 465,000 in 2023.

The latest draw implemented the tie-breaking rule on February 11, 2024, at 15:26:56 UTC. Under this rule, if multiple candidates share the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this specified date and time are selected for invitations.

This recent draw marks the fifth round of invitations under Express Entry in 2024 and the 283rd overall. Candidates are granted a 60-day window to submit their applications, which will be processed within the standard six-month timeframe.
