Science and Technology Branch

The Science and Technology branch of Environment Canada is currently accepting résumes for an Administrative Officer inventory. The position is available in several locations across Canada, including Edmonton (Alberta), North Vancouver (British Columbia), Vancouver (British Columbia), Winnipeg (Manitoba), Moncton (New Brunswick), Dartmouth (Nova Scotia), Burlington (Ontario), Ottawa (Ontario), Montréal Island (Québec), and Saskatoon (Saskatchewan).

  • Education: Only a secondary school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements (English Essential, English or French Essential, French Essential, Bilingual Imperative).
  • Experience: Suitable candidates need experience in client services, agenda management, meeting scheduling and organization, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, data entry, experience verifying financial data and maintaining accurate financial records, and other related duties.
  • Salary: $54,878 to $61,379.
  • Closing date: 26 April 2023 – 23:59, Pacific Time.

As an Administrative Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Science and Technology branch. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to senior management and technical staff. This includes managing calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing meeting materials, and maintaining files. You will also be responsible for managing office supplies and equipment, coordinating travel arrangements, and processing expense claims.

 

Human Resources Branch

The Environment Canada Human Resources Branch is currently accepting résumés for a Human Resources Coordinator inventory. The position is available in various locations across Canada.

  • Education: Only a secondary school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements (Bilingual Imperative, English, or French Essential).
  • Experience: You can apply to this inventory if you have work experience in a customer service setting as well as experience utilizing a Human Resources Management System (e.g., MyGCHR, PeopleSoft, HRIS) beyond the self-service capability to aid customers with various information requests or to solve problems.
  • Salary: $61,152 to $65,887.
  • Closing date: 29 September 2023 – 23:59, Pacific Time.

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the HRMS Help Desk team, which offers first-line assistance to nearly 7,000 ECCC employees. You will work closely with customers to assist them in gaining access to, navigating, and resolving different difficulties connected to our HR and Pay systems. You will also be responsible for coordinating the delivery of first-level support services to all ECCC employees who have pay and leave requests, questions, or concerns.
