Indian tourists planning to visit Germany for tourism have good news. Some of the country’s visa application rules have been relaxed for Indian tourists.

German Missions in India have announced that Indian travellers can now book their visa appointments at any of the VFS global visa application centres (in any major cities) in the country, as per one’s convenience.

A Schengen visa can be applied for three months before the date of travel. However, this relaxation does not apply to D-visa categories (for example, student, employment, and family reunion visas). A Schengen visa will allow travellers to legally stay in any of the states in the Schengen area for up to 90 days of any 180-day period.

A Schengen area consists of 26 member states: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Visitors from Germany can travel easily to Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands because it is one of the most visited Schengen countries. Most of these places don’t even require flights.

The cost of a German Schengen Visa for an adult is 80 Euros and for a child is 40 Euros. For children under six years of age, there is no visa fee.
