Highly Skilled Immigrants earn more than Canadian – a report by Government of Canada

Highly Skilled Immigrants

The Government of Canada issued an internal report stating that highly skilled immigrants earn more than the Canadian. The report was released considering the economic and social outcomes of newcomers who came to Canada through various immigration programs.

As per reports, Immigrants tend to earn more compared to Canadians soon after their arrival. Also, immigrants who transit into Canadian citizenship have a strong feeling of belongings in Canada than those born or immigrants who have not yet become citizens.

The findings by the Government of Canada justify their belief that skilled immigrants with high human capital tend to have high earning capacity. It is also stated that this is the major reason behind the increase in an invitation issued to Federal Skilled Worker from 25 per cent to 48 per cent. In addition, job vacancies in Canada have increased by nearly 25 per cent in the last three months of 2017 compared to last year.

According to statistics, there were 470,000 job vacancies in the year 2017, an increase of 89,000, compared to 2016.
