In its ongoing efforts to welcome skilled immigrants, Canada has successfully executed a new all-program Express Entry draw, issuing a total of 2,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The draw, held on August 1, 2023, showcased a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 517, reflecting a 12-point increase compared to the previous all-program draw. This marks the 13th all-program draw of the year 2023.

 

Tie-Breaking Rule Implementation and Draw Details

The recent draw introduced the tie-breaking rule, effectively applied on June 30, 2023, at 07:03:08 UTC. In scenarios where multiple candidates share the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this specified date and time were selected for invitations.

This draw marks the 23rd round of invitations under the Express Entry system in the year 2023, contributing to the total of 259 draws conducted overall.

 

Diverse Invitation Categories: A Snapshot

Canada’s commitment to diverse and targeted invitations is evident through various draws conducted recently:

  • Four Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws
  • Two draws tailored to healthcare occupations
  • One draw focusing on STEM occupations
  • Two draws tailored for French-speaking candidates
  • One draw tailored for Federal Skilled Worker candidates

In the current year, Canada has already extended a commendable 71,849 ITAs, demonstrating a significant leap from the 45,115 candidates invited throughout the entirety of 2022. Building on the momentum, this figure surpasses the record-breaking 114,431 ITAs issued in 2021, encompassing candidates from the Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program.
