More reassuring news for the holders of expired Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and Permanent Resident Visa (PR).
With new guidelines issued by Canada’s immigration department, travel restrictions for individuals with expired COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) & PR (Permanent Residence) Visas have been lifted. If you are an individual who meets the above requirement, then you may travel to Canada as per IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) orders.
The Canadian Government has announced few instructions for travellers, considering whether they are coming from the USA or any other country.
If you are not from the USA, then you must have received a valid visa on or before March 18 to qualify for the new measures. However, there is no such guideline for the visa holder who is based in the USA.
Please note that the ones who intend to settle in Canada permanently will be allowed to enter the country and become a permanent resident. The ones who intend to travel to Canada temporarily and return will not be allowed unless they are exempted from the travel restrictions, which means the individual needs to prove that he/she is traveling for a non- discretionary reason

Canada is currently accepting new applications for permanent residence. And with the new guidelines in place, individuals with both valid and expired COPR and PR visas will be allowed to travel.
