During the lockdown, the all programs draw were not held much as the authority may not want to invite people from outside the country. But IRCC continued to hold the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws to invite the candidates, most of which were already in the country only. Hence, IRCC tried to meet their goal of inviting the immigrants during the period.

IRCC has now held few all-programs draw and that is good news for the candidates. Meanwhile, provinces have also held the PNP draws. Nova Scotia recently held the draw PNP draw for candidates registered in Express Entry pool.

Nova Scotia has issued the new invitations for provincial nomination for Canadian PR through Express Entry-linked Labour Market Priorities immigration stream on December 1. Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) did not specify how many invitations were issues in this draw.

The invitations were issued to the eligible Express Entry candidates who have job offer from the Nova Scotia employer for full time skilled work in the province. The offer must be for a period of at least one year after the permanent resident visa is issued. The term “full-time” means working year-round and at least 30 hours per week.

Candidates must also have one year of skilled, job-related work experience and have a Canadian secondary school diploma or the equivalent.

The draw targeted Express Entry candidates who have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 5 or higher in French or English.

Those who received a letter of invitation in the draw have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application to NSNP.

Candidates must include a copy of language tests, proof of education and of a job offer with their application.

Please note that in order to be considered for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia through the Labour Market Priorities Stream, candidate first need to have a profile in the Express Entry system.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination will automatically be awarded an additional 600 CRS points, which will effectively guarantee that they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw
