On February 8, Nova Scotia immigration conducted a new draw for nurses through the province’s Express Entry-linked Labour Market Priorities stream.

Candidates must have a primary occupation as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse in order to be nominated. Their responsibilities should be in accordance with National Occupational Classification (NOC) 3012. They will need to provide letters of reference from employers to demonstrate that they have at least three years of experience in their occupation.

Candidates were also required to have a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 9 or higher in English or French, plus hold a bachelor’s degree or have completed a program of three or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or another institute.

(You must include copies of language tests and proof of education to meet a bachelor’s degree or higher with your application. Proof of education must include an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by an organization designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada if your educational credential was obtained outside of Canada.)

The application deadline is March 10 at midnight. If their applications are accepted, they will be nominated for a provincial position in Nova Scotia. They will be considered PNP candidates in the Express Entry system, allowing them to apply for permanent residence if chosen in an Express Entry draw.
