Latest Ontario Entrepreneur Draw Invites 33 Immigration Candidates

In a new Entrepreneur Stream draw on July 15, Ontario immigration has issued 33 Invitations to Apply. ITAs were issued to Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) candidates scoring between 146 and 174 points in this draw.

A candidate must have submitted an Expression of Interest by July 8, 2022 to be considered.

What is the financial requirement for the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream?

1) Net Worth

• If you plan to start a business in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), you need a minimum net worth of $800,000. In areas outside the GTA, the minimum net worth is $400,000.
• The proposed business should be either in ICT or digital communications, and the net worth of the company must be at least $400,000 anywere in province.

2) Investment and Ownership

• You must invest at least $600,000 in an Ontario business and own at least 33% if the business is in the GTA.
• Own at least 33 percent of the company outside the GTA and invest at least $200,000.
• The proposed business must either be in ICT or digital communications, and it must invest at least $200,000 and own at least 33 percent anywhere in the province.

Ontario Entrepreneur Stream: Non-Financial Requirements

• A minimum of 24 months’ full-time business experience, as an owner or senior manager, in the past 60 months.
• The proposed company should create two full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents if it is located within the Greater Toronto Area. One full-time job must be created by businesses outside the GTA, or those in ICT or digital communications.
• Make exploratory visit to Ontario in the 12 months prior to application. Note: This only applies to those buying an existing business.
• In English or French, a CLB of 4 is required.
• At least 75% of your time managing the business must be spent physically in Ontario.
