Ontario Invites 300 French-Speaking Skilled Workers in Latest Express Entry Draw

On September 7, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 300 candidates to apply for provincial nomination under its French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. This marks the second draw for the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream in 2023.

This draw specifically targeted Express Entry profiles created between September 7, 2022, and September 7, 2023, with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranging from 308 to 434.

To be eligible for the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC). They must also have a Canadian bachelor’s degree or higher, a CLB level 7 or higher in French, and a CLB level 6 or higher in English.

In addition, candidates must demonstrate that they have enough settlement funds to support themselves and their family in Ontario. This can be done by showing proof of funds in a bank account, investments, or a job offer in Ontario. Candidates must also show that they have the intention to live in Ontario. This can be demonstrated by having a job offer in Ontario, having previously lived in Ontario, or having family or friends in Ontario.

The OINP has offered 1,427 provincial nominations under the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream so far in 2023. The program is a great way for skilled workers who are fluent in French to immigrate to Ontario.

  • Make sure your Express Entry profile is complete and up-to-date.
  • Get a high CRS score. This can be done by having a high level of education, work experience, and language proficiency.
  • Demonstrate that you have enough settlement funds.
  • Show that you have the intention to live in Ontario.
